Vet Next Door Team

Drs. Zachary and Morgan Pearl are a husband-and-wife veterinary team, each with over 10 years in experience in companion animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. Together with the Vet Next Door team, they provide individualized veterinary care for dogs and cats in Parrish and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Zachary Pearl

Dr. Zach grew up in Coral Gables, Florida. He spent his undergraduate years as a Florida State Seminole, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. Shortly afterwards, he studied veterinary medicine at St. George’s University. Dr. Zach has a special interest in preventative medicine and sincerely enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets through all their life stages. As an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Manatee County Veterinary Society, Dr. Zach has developed a familiarity with the local veterinary community and the clients they serve. In his spare time, Dr. Zach plays drums and also enjoys boating and being a dad two his two sons.

Dr. Morgan Pearl
Dr. Morgan grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She spent her undergraduate years at Saint Mary of the Woods College, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science. She also spent time working as a veterinary technician and volunteering at an animal shelter prior to being accepted into St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Morgan met her husband in veterinary school and they graduated together in 2016. Dr. Morgan has a special interest in surgery and dentistry for companion animals. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, traveling, and spending time with her family, which includes two dogs (Bandit and Lily), one cat (Azzy), and an Argentine Tegu (large lizard) named Malbec.

Dr. Harrison Pearl
Dr. Harrison originates from Coral Gables, Florida. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at Colorado State University. Dr. Harrison has a special interest in diagnostic imaging, such as radiography and ultrasonography. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Harrison enjoys live music and is an exceptional musician on bass guitar. He also enjoys traveling abroad, having visited several countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Dr. Harrison has two dogs, a toy poodle named “Poppy” and a dachshund named “Winston”.

Dr. Melisa Cardenas
Dr. Melisa was born in Peru and moved to the United States at the age of 8. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Melisa has a special interest in soft-tissue surgery and preventative medicine. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she is dedicated to ensuring effective communication and exceptional care for every pet family she encounters. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Melisa is an avid traveler, foodie, and nature enthusiast. She enjoys exploring new restaurants, hiking with her two adorable dogs, Mowgli and Penelope, and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Gabrielle
Dr. Gabrielle Rivera
Dr. Gabrielle Rivera grew up in New Jersey and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University, completing her clinical training at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. Her experiences as both a veterinary technician and a college athlete shaped her compassionate, team-oriented approach to patient care and reinforced the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with clients. Dr. Rivera enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, with particular interests in surgery and dentistry.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys traveling, watching and playing sports, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and making memories with her two rescued dogs, Gracie and Brooke, and her cat, Mia.

Morgan
Morgan moved to Parrish from North Carolina in 2024. Being a military wife has taken her many places and has allowed her to meet many wonderful people. She treasures the close relationships she has created with clients and their pets while working in the veterinary field for the past 3 years. While she loves all pets, Morgan has a special place in her heart for Pit Bull terriers. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets at home, embroidery, cooking and focusing on health and fitness. She has 2 dogs named Leia and Widow and a cat named Jinx, all girls. 
Haley
Haley
Haley is a customer service representative with over ten years of experience in veterinary medicine. She was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL where she graduated from St. Petersburg college. She is a dog mom to her handsome Thai Ridgeback, Deacon and two cats, Rip and Bundy. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter and fur babies either exploring different parts of Florida or sitting on the beach enjoying the sunshine.

Lauren
Lauren has been working in veterinary medicine for 4 years and loves helping animals while making their people smile. Before entering the veterinary field, she trained “last chance” dogs, and animal behavior remains one of her biggest passions.

Lauren is originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Outside of work, she’s usually chasing after her two kids, reading a good book, or being judged by her cats, Sakai (the self-appointed household villain) and Mazikeen (the Queen who absolutely knows she’s royalty).

Alina

Alina has had a passion for animals since she started volunteering at the animal shelter back in high school. Since then, she has immersed herself in the veterinary industry, having worked as a veterinary assistant, customer service representative, and practice manager. At home, Alina enjoys reading and spending time with her family, which includes a Parson Russel mix named “Mia” and an American Bulldog mix named “Cooper”.

Trista

Trista and her husband Mike have been married 25 years with 3 children. Born and raised in Bradenton she enjoys being on the water and fishing. Her family is heavily involved in Shooting Sports and Dirt Bike racing all across Florida. She enjoys working part time as a CSR and spending time with her dog and cat at home. Received CVT license in 2001 and worked as a technician for 7 years. 

Veterinary Medical Team

Our medical team at Vet Next Door is made up of skilled veterinary technicians and assistants. They provide a supporting role for veterinarians by administering treatments, performing diagnostic tests, and communicating with you about your pet. Our medical team strives to provide excellent care, treating all pets with dignity and respect.

Stephanie

Stephanie is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). As the Veterinary Technician Supervisor at Vet Next Door, she supports our team with over 30 years of experience in veterinary practice. Stephanie is originally from California and spent the first 20 years of her career working in both general and specialty practice. She now lives in Florida with her husband and has a son and daughter who have left the nest to make waves of their own. Stephanie currently has 2 dogs, a female Maltese named “Tesla” and a male Shih Tzu named “Taz”. She has also owned several Quarter horses and is an excellent rider, having participated in barrel races and ranch sorting. We are proud to have Stephanie filling a leadership role for our team at Vet Next Door.

Gabi

Gabi has been in the veterinary field for 5 years. She is currently working towards finishing her bachelor’s degree and considering vet school in the future. Gabi loves animals so much that she filled her house with them. She has 11 pets: 2 dogs “Yobbo and Fry”, a cat “Gatosai”, 3 ferrets “Tomo, Tito, and Tula”, 2 birds “Frankie Valli and Mahina”, and 3 goldfish “Pierre, Bunny, and Big Chungus”. In her free time, Gabi enjoys watching movies, traveling, and building legos.

Izzy
Isabel has been working as a veterinary assistant for the past year, and is currently working towards achieving her Certified Veterinary Technician degree. She is determined and passionate about providing care to animals. She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, “Gus” and “Walter”. Outside of the veterinary clinic, Izzy likes to express her creativity through dancing and was part of the color guard and marching band in high school. While she has two Chihuahuas at home, her all-time favorite breed is a Pug.

Anne

Anne was born and raised in Parrish and she has been working in the veterinary field for 3 years. She received her associates degree in veterinary technology and is working on getting certified as a Veterinary Technician. Anne really enjoys connecting with clients and making them feel valued. She has two dachshunds, Cooper and Lucy, and one senior cat, Nora. Outside of Vet Med, Anne loves going out to eat, watching movies, attending concerts, and raising her two daughters with her husband.

Karla

Karla is a certified veterinary technician who started her career at Vet Next Door. She has a strong interest in emergency medicine and enjoys working with a collaborative team. Karla’s favorite part of being a technician is being able to help pet parents find answer to all their questions, and educating them against preventable diseases. Outside of work, Karla enjoys traveling, good food, and running. At home, she has Athena, a mixed breed dog who loves cuddling.

Kasey
Kasey

Kasey was born and raised in Florida and previously worked as a preschool teacher before finding her passion in veterinary medicine. She has a special interest in feline care, especially senior cats, and loves helping them stay healthy, comfortable, and enriched throughout their golden years. Kasey also enjoys feline behavior and has a soft spot for “spicy” cats, taking the time to earn their trust and help make veterinary visits a more positive experience. Outside of work, Kasey enjoys PC gaming, reading comic books, and caring for her growing collection of houseplants. At home, she has three cats—Antares, an orange troublemaker; Spica, her talented circus cat; and Chonks, her sweet senior granny kitty—as well as two dogs, Rookie, a terrier mix who enjoys staying home, and Candie, a boxer mix who enjoys hiking adventures.
