End-of-Life Care

Please read below for information about pet hospice and end-of-life care.

End-of-Life Care

Losing a pet is incredibly difficult. Dealing with grief is painful and our team at Vet Next Door will provide you with resources necessary to help you through these tough times.

Hospice Services

Veterinary hospice is focused on maintaining the comfort and quality of life for terminally ill or senior pets until a natural death occurs or the family elects euthanasia. Our veterinarians will dedicate time to educating you about your pet’s medical condition so you can make the best decision for your family.

Euthanasia Services

When appropriate, euthanasia can help your pet pass comfortably before they suffer from a chronic or terminal illness. Knowing when it’s the right time to say goodbye can be a very difficult time in any family’s life. You will not be alone at the end stages of your pet’s life, and we will provide the best support to make this transition easier.

We are willing to provide a quality of life consultation at any time. When you decide it is time to say goodbye to your pet, we can discuss where and when is best for you and your family. Most euthanasias will take place in our comfort room, specifically designed for your pet to feel at home. Options for in-home euthanasia services can be discussed with your veterinarian if preferred.

After euthanasia, we work with a local pet crematory to offer both communal and individual cremations. We promise to treat your pets with the utmost respect, and each of you with compassion and understanding.
